Data Notes and HEOA Compliance
- HEOA Compliance: This report fulfills requirements under the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) Section 488(a)(1)(E) which amended HEA Section 485(a)(1) (20 U.S.C. 1092(a)(1)) by adding HEA Section 485(a)(1)(Q). Institutions must make available to current and prospective students information about student body demographics, including the percentage of enrolled, full-time students by sex, self-identified members of major racial or ethnic groups, Federal Pell Grant recipients, and retention rates.
- Data Sources: All full-time students enrolled at the institution on Fall 2024 45th Day. Race/ethnicity and sex data are collected in the IPEDS Fall 2024 Fall Enrollment Report. Information about Pell Grant recipients is collected from the IRIS Database as of August 2025. Retention data is based on first-time students from Fall 2023 who returned in Fall 2024.
- Student Body Demographics: This report provides comprehensive demographic information including the distribution of full-time students by sex (male/female) and major racial/ethnic categories as required under federal reporting guidelines.
- Pell Grant Recipients: Full-time students who received a Federal Pell Grant at any time during the Fall 2024 semester. The Pell Grant is a federal need-based aid program.
- Retention Rates: Calculated as the percentage of first-time degree-seeking students from the Fall 2023 cohort who returned to the institution in Fall 2024. Separate rates are provided for full-time and part-time students as required by HEOA.
- U.S. Nonresident: International students are not eligible for Federal Pell Grants and will show zero recipients in this category.
- Sex Reporting: Sex data for students without specified sex is distributed proportionally based on the overall sex distribution of the institution.
- Percentage Calculations: Percentages are calculated within each column group to show the demographic composition of both the general student body and Pell Grant recipients. Totals may not equal 100% due to rounding.
- Full-time Status: Includes only students enrolled with a full-time academic load (12 or more credit hours for undergraduates) as specified in HEOA requirements.
- Data Privacy: An asterisk (*) indicates that the value represents fewer than 5 students. These values are masked to protect student privacy in accordance with FERPA regulations.
